Chair Reports Successes
by Jana Kittredge
I've managed to get quite a bit of press in Central Oregon that
I am aware of. The Cascade Business News published in Bend, highlighted
our press releases for Central Oregon chapter, and our annual convention
news! AgLife Northwest published in Redmond featured our annual
convention news, publicized our annual dinner and auction and reported
COWA chapter hosting the OWA state board meet in June!
Capital Press writer, Jo McIntyre, wrote an article about our annual
convention and reported on the many resolutions and policy motions
adopted
by our group. I don't know of any other press, but have kept these
articles on file and am pleased with all the publicity OWA has recently
received.
Currently, I am producing some new radio spots for Ag in the Classroom
promotion. I've developed both 30 and 60 second spots. I have also
been working on new scripts for original "Saving Wildlands"
spots and came up with the idea to target hunters and tourists through
some generic PSAs.
Our production took place on October 10th @ KBND radio in Bend.
Talent for the spots are Jenny Brooks, COWA President, and my 8
year old son, Conley. We had a good time producing and hope everyone
gets our messages. I also ran the "Equipment on the Road"
spot during July. We noticed a lot of rude traffic whizzing by our
equipment as we were transporting on public roads and highways.
I think this is a very important message to get out to the general
public.
