As summer winds down and most fairs have come to a close, I hope you take a moment to reflect on the busy season we’ve shared and the vital role you continue to play in Oregon agriculture. From harvest activities to community outreach, your efforts make a lasting impact across our state. With fall quickly approaching, we also look ahead to new opportunities and challenges that the season brings.
This summer reminded us of the importance of visibility and outreach. County fairs, festivals, and community events offered valuable opportunities to share the story of agriculture with our neighbors, communities, and beyond. Every conversation and interaction highlighted the essential role farming and ranching play in our daily lives.

I especially want to recognize the great work of our chapters at the Oregon State Fair. The Eastern Oregon Chapter did an outstanding job with the State Fair booth, showcasing the connection everyday products and items have to agriculture and how almost everything starts on a farm or ranch. The Lane Chapter also deserves a big thank you for the beautiful display they created for the One Farmer Feeds exhibit—it was an eye-catching and meaningful way to share the story of agriculture with thousands of fairgoers.

I want to encourage all of our members to stay connected and engaged at both the chapter and state levels. Your time, energy, and ideas are what fuel the strength of OWA. Whether it’s volunteering at an educational booth, helping organize a local event, or attending a state meeting, every contribution adds to our collective voice and impact.

As we move into fall, let’s continue to celebrate our successes, support one another, and ensure that Oregon Women for Agriculture remains a strong advocate for the future of farming. I am grateful for each of you and the unique skills and perspectives you bring to this organization.

Wishing you a safe, productive, and meaningful fall season.

Warm regards,

Sarah Puls
