Oregon Women for Agriculture is built on the dedication, passion, and leadership of women who care deeply about agriculture and our mission to communicate the story of today’s agriculture. As we look ahead to 2026, several leadership positions are opening and we’re looking for members who are ready to make an impact!

Serving in an OWA leadership role is an incredible opportunity to connect with members across the state, help shape our organization’s future, and ensure agriculture continues to have a strong, unified voice in Oregon.

Open Positions

Interim First Vice President (succeeding to President in March 2026)
Due to the recent resignation of our First Vice President, we are seeking an Interim First Vice President for appointment in December 2025. This individual will serve alongside the current President, gaining valuable insight and experience before assuming the presidency in March 2026. As President, you will preside over all meetings of members and the Board of Directors, help set organizational direction, and appoint committees (with Board approval). The President serves as the primary representative and voice of OWA.

Auction Chair (2026)
The annual OWA Auction is one of our most important events of the year—raising funds that make our work possible and bringing our community together to celebrate agriculture. This position has the option to work with the interim First Vice President as a co-chair if desired. The Auction Chair leads planning efforts, coordinates volunteers, and ensures the event runs smoothly and successfully. If you love event coordination and bringing people together for a great cause, this is your chance to shine!

First Vice President (Two-Year Term, 2026–2028)
The First Vice President supports the President and may preside in her absence. This role often includes serving as program chair for special events such as the annual auction—unless a dedicated chairperson is appointed. It’s an ideal position for someone who enjoys planning, teamwork, and helping bring OWA’s signature event to life.  This position succeeds to President following the 2 year term.

Second Vice President (One-Year Term, 2026)
The Second Vice President assists both the President and First Vice President in representing OWA statewide. As a member of the executive committee, this leader attends all meetings and has the opportunity to learn and grow as a leader. This position does not succeed to any leadership positions.

Corresponding Secretary (Two-Year Term, 2026-2028)
The Corresponding Secretary manages OWA’s communications and outreach, helping share our story and mission with members and the public. This includes handling official correspondence, overseeing social media and website updates, and ensuring OWA’s message reflects our values and priorities. It’s a great fit for someone who enjoys writing, organization, and connecting with others through communication.

Why Get Involved?

Leadership in OWA isn’t just about titles—it’s about connection, advocacy, and impact. You’ll gain valuable experience, help guide our programs and outreach, and strengthen Oregon agriculture for generations to come.

Interested?

If you or someone you know is interested in serving, please reach out to President Sarah Puls. Nominations for the interim First Vice President and Auction Chair will be accepted through November 30 2025, and elections will take place at the December 5 2025 State Board and Budget Meeting. All other nominations will be open through March 6, 2026 and elections will take place at the March 7, 2026 Annual Business Meeting during the OWA Annual State Convention.

Together, we grow stronger. Step into leadership and help shape the future of Oregon Women for Agriculture.
