The Resource Education and Agricultural Leadership program—known as REAL Oregon—is a premier leadership development opportunity for individuals involved in Oregon’s natural resource industries, including agriculture, forestry, fisheries, and related fields.
Now accepting applications for Class 10, REAL Oregon brings together current and emerging leaders from across the state for an immersive, multi-session experience. The program runs from November through March and includes five required multi-day sessions held in different regions of Oregon. Each session combines local industry tours and issue-based discussions with professional development focused on leadership, communication, public policy, and effective advocacy.
Participants gain a deeper understanding of Oregon’s natural resource sectors while building skills in areas such as board governance, media engagement, public speaking, and navigating the legislative process. Just as importantly, the program fosters a strong, statewide network of professionals committed to supporting and advancing natural resource industries.
Tuition is $2,500 for qualified producers and $3,500 for other participants. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and applicants are encouraged to explore financial assistance options if cost is a barrier. Oregon Women for Agriculture also offers partial tuition support for members who are selected to participate.
REAL Oregon is designed as an investment in leadership growth, equipping participants with the knowledge, connections, and confidence to take on greater roles within their industries and communities. Those interested in strengthening their impact and engagement in Oregon’s natural resource sector are encouraged to apply.
